Mavs’ softball splits conference games at Carl Albert

POTEAU, Oklahoma -- The Northern Oklahoma College Tonkawa Mavs rallied in Game 2 forcing a split at Carl Albert in the NJCAA Region 2 opener.

NOC (5-3) lost the first game 4-2 and rallied to win Game 2 11-10.

In Game 1, the Mavs outhit Carl Albert 11-8 but lost 4-2.

Maggie Landes and Maegan Bellar had three hits each for NOC, Bellar and Hallie Durkee had runs batted in for NOC.

Lynsey Ailey allowed two earned runs on eight hits striking out nine.

In Game 2, the Mavs trailed 8-2 after four innings but scored seven runs in the fifth and then hung on for the 11-10 win.

Ailey had two hits including a home run, double and four runs batted in. Bellar added a home run and two runs batted in.

Landes had two hits and two runs scored for NOC.

Ailey was the winner in relief allowing two runs in three innings.

NOC is in the Pratt Softball Festival Saturday and Sunday.
