ENID — The Frontier boy’s bowling team participated in the recent State Bowling Tournament for high school bowlers. The Frontier team finished eighth in the event.

The Frontier bowlers qualified for the state tournament by being the regional runner-up in Cushing. In the state tournament;s first round, they competed against the No. 1 team Norman but came up short. The eventual winner of the state tournament was Owasso with Norman finishing as runner up.

The Frontier team has been competing for four years with Rhonda McCormick as its sponsor. This was Frontier’s second trip to the state tournament.

Four Frontier bowlers were selected to participate in the state All-Star bowling game that was scheduled March 7 in Edmond. The four were seniors Tucker Stephens and Ty Wright, junior Evan Thompson and sophonore Trace Stephens.
