Is President Joe Biden treating the press better than former President Donald Trump did? It’s a low bar to argue he doesn’t describe the media as “enemies of the people.” Is he really treating them as they view themselves -- as representatives of the people? Or is he not interested in addressing the people? Are they all too negative?

The already-forgotten-butnot- yet-gone Kevin McCarthy shared some thoughts on threats to our democracy with Bob Costa on “Face the Nation.” McCarthy is unworried about Trump’s authoritarian ambitions. “Yeah, but remember, you have a checkand- balance system.”

Dear Annie: My husband doesn’t spend time with me anymore. We have been together for eight years and married for three. We were inseparable most of that time, but, all of a sudden, he doesn’t want me around. He says most married people hardly ever hang out. He tells me the honeymoon is over.

Then, closer to the holiday, my sister-in-law will change the plans saying that the new plans work better for her family. Most often the new plans conflict with other plans that we’ve made.

Dear Annie: A few weeks ago, a friend and I had a trip to Costco planned. The night before, I fell in my house and wasn’t sure if I sprained or broke my hand in the wee hours. I couldn’t make up my mind whether I should go to urgent care in the morning or the ER that night. I was in pain, but it wasn’t killing me, so I decided to reevaluate it in the morning. I was hurting enough in the morning to decide to go.
