Karen Sue Rhoades, our precious wife, mother, grandmother, and sister joined her parents in heaven on November 4, 2022, after a short battle with cancer. Karen was born in Ponca City, OK on May 23, 1952, to Clyde & Freda (Benoit) Hodges. Karen’s early childhood years were spent in Ponca City, OK then the family moved to Fort Morgan, CO. Karen’s father worked in the oilfield and moved the family to Gillett, WY, then they moved to Goodland, KS. At the age of 16, Karen moved back Ponca City with her family. Karen’s sister, Patty introduced her to the love of her life, Jimmy Rhoades in 1969, after Karen caught Jimmy’s eye while he was cruising Grand in his 1969 Chevy Nova. They were married on January 14th, 1970.

Marial “Babe” Te’Ata Greenwood, 79, of Arkansas City passed away Monday, October 31st, 2022. Funeral services were held at 11:00 A.M.

Richard Harvey Koenig, 86, entered peacefully into eternal life in the early morning hours of October 21, 2022, following a lengthy illness, in Bartlesville, OK. A Rosary Ceremony will be held at Trout funeral home on Friday, November 4, 2022, at 6:30 P.M., with a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Saturday, November, 5, 2022, at 10:00 A.M. Beverly Jean Taylor of Blackwell, Oklahoma, passed away Friday evening, October 28, 2022, in the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas, at the age of 80 years. Beverly Jean (Love) Taylor was born on September 16, 1942, in Ponca City to Kenneth Hartsel Love and Oranna Pauline (Carpenter) Love.

Carl Francis Pierce was born April 9, 1927, at Crisfield, KS, and was the firstborn child of Jacob A. and Daisy M. (Hacker) Pierce. He passed to his eternal heavenly home on Saturday, October 29, 2022, from Via Christi Village, Ponca City, OK, at the age of 95 years, 6 months, and 20 days.

On Wednesday, October 26, 2022, John R. Dixey, beloved son and brother, passed away at his home in Ponca City, OK. He was 55 years old. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at 3:00 PM, Thursday, November, 3, 2022, at the Carolyn Renfro Event Center. Arrangements are under the direction of County Cremation Service, 1901 E. Hubbard Rd, Ponca City, OK, 74604.

Bernard Lee Flaming, retired Firefighter, retired member of the Oklahoma Army National Guard, and resident of Ponca City, OK passed away on October 17, 2022 at the age of 93. He was born on June 25, to Sam and Marie Berg Flaming in Fairview, OK. He attended Fairview Public High School and graduated from Enid Business College. He and the love of his life, Alberta Lucille Regier, were married on September 3, 1950 and resided in Enid, OK where they raised 6 children.

Mrs. Imogene Mankin Vineyard, widow of the late Dr. Edwin E. Vineyard, passed away October 19, 2022. Mrs. Vineyard has lived at 3540 Chickadee Lane in Enid since 2000. She and her late husband had lived in Ponca City for ten years following their retirement in 1990 after 25 years as president and first lady of Northern Oklahoma College. Private interment services for family only will be at the cemetery in Red Oak, Oklahoma. At her request, no public ceremony is planned.
