William passed away at the age of 84 at home with his family. he was born in Booneville, AR, on February 21st, 1939 to Buddy Monroe Buffington and Gladys Marie (Bollinger) Buffington. As a child, he and his family moved to Fairfax where he grew up. In 1958 he joined the military and served until 1961. He drove a truck most of his adult life until he retired.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Evelyn (Stafford) Buffington; children Kelly Halper, Eugene Buffington, Shannon Hamilton, Stephanie Baker, and Elisha Patee; his brother Charles Eugene Buffington; eleven grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters, one granddaughter, and two grandsons.

Memorial services will be held at Carolyn Renfro Center, located at 445 Fairview Ave in Ponca City, OK, on Sunday, November 12th, 2023, at 2 pm.
