Wilda Mae Lesemann, resident of Turner Oregon and formerly of Newkirk, died April 2, 2020 in the Turner Retirement Home. She was 100.

The daughter of Dewey and Ruth (Van Cleave) Weddle, Wilda was born Jan. 7, 1920 in Newkirk, where she grew up and attended school, graduating in 1938. She then attended Oklahoma A&M College in Stillwater for a year before attending beauty school. On June 10, 1941 Wilda

On June 10, 1941 Wilda and Alfred Lewis Lesemann were married in Lamar, Mo. They established their first home in Newkirk, moving four years later to western Kansas. In 1949 they moved to Portland, Ore., and Wilda was employed in housekeeping for Providence Hospital. In 1980 the couple retired and moved to the Turner Retirement Home in Turner, Ore. Mr. Lesemann died Nov.15, 2011 ending their 70 year marriage. Mrs. Lesemann remained in the retirement home until her death. Wilda is survived by a

Wilda is survived by a nephew and his wife, Milton and Donna Lesemann of Newkirk; two nieces and their husbands, Patricia and Roy Wilson of Sand Springs, and Janell and Kirk Peace of Newkirk; and great and great-great-nephews and nieces.

In addition to her husband Alfred, Wilda was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Robert Weddle.

Private graveside services were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 26 in the Newkirk Cemetery. Miller-Stahl Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.
