Longtime resident of rural Newkirk, Ronald (Ron) Scott, 82, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother was called to his eternal resting place on April 15, 2022. He entered this world on January 30, 1940, in Arkansas City, KS, born to Lloyd Charles Scott and Dorothy Nadine (Barnes) Scott.

Ron grew up in Kay County and graduated from Newkirk High School in 1958. While in high school, he enjoyed being a part of FFA. He continued his education at Cowley Community College and graduated with an Associate’s Degree. He met the love of his life, Vivian R. Stebens, and they were married July 21, 1961, in Newkirk, OK. They made their home in Ponca City, OK until they moved to Newkirk, OK a short time later. Ron worked for different companies over the years, but his passion was farming and raising cattle which he did most of his life. He enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, and working outside on his farm. Ron was a past member of NFO and the Ponca City Moose Lodge.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Vivian, of 60 years, three children: Troy Scott, Leah McCombs and husband Eric, Rhonda Stephens, and husband Kevin all of Newkirk, OK, three grandchildren: Laci Jo Bemo and husband Cody, Tyler McCombs and wife Danielle both of Newkirk, OK, Lacey Allen and husband Christian of Tulsa, OK, and one great granddaughter Layla Drager. Also surviving are one brother, Clinton Scott, and wife Carol of Newkirk, OK and one sister, Sharon Giger of Geuda Springs, KS and numerous nieces, nephews, and the Blue Haven family.

Graveside services in Newkirk Cemetery under the direction of Miller Stahl Funeral Home will be held on April 26th, 2022 at 2:00 p.m.
