Lt. Col. Larry D. Harrison, 57, resident of Ponca City, OK., passed away on Nov. 1, 2020 in Washington D.C.

Larry was born on July 1, 1963 in Ponca City, OK. He was the son of Larry D. Harrison and Sherry C. Potter. He graduate d from Ponca City High School in 1981. He attended Oklahoma State University and then joined the United States Army in 1984. While serving in Germany, he became a tank commander and reached the rank of Sgt. and received several awards and ribbons including the Army Good Conduct Medal. Then he joined the Army National Guard in Tonkawa and finished his Bachelor s degree in Chemical Engineering at OSU.

After graduation, he rejoined the USArmy as 2nd Lt and served in Bosnia. He then was stationed in Monterey, Ca. where he went to school to learn the Russian language. He was then sent to Moscow, where he graduated from the Russian Military Academy. During this time he graduated from KSU with a Masters in Chemical Engineering . Larry made the rank of Lt. Col. and served his country as the Military Attache in Albania, Tajikistan & Turkmenistan.

He retired from the U.S. Army in 2016 and spent his time living in Washington DC, Ponca City and traveling the United States. He loved treasure hunting and camping and hiking. He loved his country and sacrificed a lot for it . He loved his family.

Larry married Petra Keulen Dec. 28, 1989 and they had 3 children, Benjamin, Danielle, and John Harrison.

Larry married Galina Alexandrovva in 2005 and they had 1 daughter Kristina.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Larry D. Harrison and Sherry C. Potter, both from Ponca City.

Larry is survived by his Sister Carrie, and her husband, Bill Cantrell of Ponca City, his son Benjamin

Harrison and his wife Savannah of Fort Rucker, AL, his daughter Danielle Harrison and son John Harrison both from Bastrop, TX, and his daughter Kristina Harrison of Sterling, VA.

A full military service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery on April 29 at 0900.
