Lorraine Joyce Calicchio, went to be with her heavenly father on 10/10/2020 surrounded by her adoring family with love, memories, and joy.

Lorraine was born on October 7th, 1947 in Jersey City, N.J. Preceded in death by her parents Margaret and Angelo Avallone of Allendale and West New York, N.J., siblings Charles Avallone and Matthew Avallone.

At 73 years of age, Lorraine accomplished many things from caring for and taking care of her ill mute mother and father from an incredibly young age and going to Memorial High School in West New York, N.J. She married her former husband Keith P. Calicchio of Hoboken N.J. in Albany, Georgia on 4/2/1966 before he left for Vietnam. They started raising a family in 1967 in Jersey City, N.J. where they were surrounded by a loving, huge Italian family. Lorraine wore many hats as to her intelligence and talents were vast, she was a beautician at Sonny’s Coiffers in Hoboken, N.J. and then her own hair salon on Ocean Ave in Greenville, N.J. Lorraine moved her growing family to Ponca City, Oklahoma in 1975 to open and run with her husband their numerous businesses such as Fat & Skinnies in Ponca City, Ark City and Enid, The Balloon Saloon, The 101 Club, Hobo-T’s, the snack bars at the bowling alley and Lew Wentz Golf Course. Lorraine had so much drive, work ethic and energy that she decided to take a position at Conoco in 1977 for the Accounting Royalties department where she worked diligently and thrived moving up the executive ladder very quickly all while also opening Hair Etc. Salon in 1978 with Patty Hall, Carol Braden, and Sandy Flegler. In 1983 Lorraine went back to college at NOC to expand her accounting degree, in 2000/2001 she went to OSU to pursue her Bachelors degree.

Lorraine retired to Fort Myers, Florida in 2015 to relax, spend time with family and be at the Beach. Lorraine was a supportive, active mother to her four children and very involved in all their sports and activities. She bore the title of Mother, Faithful Servant, Wife, Advocate, Nana, Aunt, Caretaker, and Mentor.

Lorraine’s legacy of survivors are her 4 children Lona Calicchio-Westerman and husband Michael Westerman of Ponca City, OK and Salina, KS., Keith Calicchio Jr. of Jenks, OK., Joyce Calicchio-Kelly and husband Michael Kelly of Ponca City, OK., and Jodi Chronister and her husband Scott Chronister of Broken Arrow, OK. 9 Grandchildren: Keegan Calicchio, Jared Armstrong, Darian Rush, Heather Rush, Vincent Rush, Rylee Kelly, Megan Hicks, Brooklyn Chronister, Emma Chronister. 9 nieces and nephews: Terri, Tony, Missy, Kristen, Mark, David, Nicole, Thomas and Jackie. Lots of family and many friends that are considered (Family).

Lorraine genuinely enjoyed her children, being an artist, playing cards, scrabble, doing crosswords, planting flowers, vegetable gardens, reading books and most of all taking care of people. She had a few sayings in life that will carry on: Do it right the first time, the lazy man does more work, 50 lashes with a wet noodle, Kill them with Kindness and Cleanliness is next to Godliness! Arrangements are being made through Stittsworth Funeral Service and Cremation. There will be a Private service at Resthaven on Saturday 10/17/2020. A Memorial of Joy and Laughter in celebration of her life will follow as a “Come and Go” from 4:30-8:30 p.m. at 1000 Brentwood Drive, Ponca City, OK
