Kurt Sattre, beloved father, Papa, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, in Ponca City, Oklahoma on July 26, 2023. He was born on December 19, 1954, in Rochester, Minnesota to Leo J. and Maxine Y. Sattre. At an early age, he moved to Kildare, Oklahoma. In 1980, he married the love of his life, Robin Sattre, and together they built a warm and loving home in Ponca City.

Kurt was a successful entrepreneur who founded and operated Kurt’s TV from the early 1980s until his retirement in the late 2000s. A selfless man of many talents, Kurt was known for his readiness to help anyone in need, often with the aid of his diverse collection of all things imaginable. His life was characterized by kindness and generosity. Above all, he valued friendship, becoming a cherished father figure to many of his daughters’ friends.

Preceded in death by his wife, Robin Sattre, who passed away in December 2022, Kurt is survived by his loving family that includes his daughters and their families: Ryan & Mindy Williams, and Dalton & Krystal Bowman. He was a doting Papa to Peyton & Abbie Williams, Dailyn Nickles, Hunter, and Tayven Bowman. Kurt is also survived by three of his brothers: Tom Sattre, Chris Sattre, and Rick Sattre.

A dinner and reception to honor and celebrate Kurt’s life will be held on Wednesday, August 2nd, from 5 to 7 pm at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Friends, family, and those whose lives Kurt touched are invited to attend and share stories of how this remarkable man made a difference in their lives.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that attendees bring their cherished memories of Kurt to share. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
