Johnita Means, 79, passed away June 28, 2019, after a short illness.

She was born April 15, 1940, to John R. Means and Eugenia H. (Munroe) Means in Ponca City. She grew up in the Washunga/old Kaw City area and resided in the Newkirk area.

She is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents Guy and Eunice (Jones) Monroe and Ruth (Conn) Nash, and a brother Eugene R. (Brother) Means. She is survived by a nice Julie Ann Means, three great-nephews Anthony, Austin and Andrew Means all of Ponca City and numerous cousins.

She wished to be cremated. Graveside rites will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31 at Grandview Cemetery in Kaw City. paid obituary
