On Wednesday, October 26, 2022, John R. Dixey, beloved son and brother, passed away at his home in Ponca City, OK. He was 55 years old. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at 3:00 PM, Thursday, November, 3, 2022, at the Carolyn Renfro Event Center. Arrangements are under the direction of County Cremation Service, 1901 E. Hubbard Rd, Ponca City, OK, 74604.

John was born to Edward J., Sr. and Carol A. (Montefusko) Dixey in Selden, NY, on January 15, 1967. He grew up in Selden and attended Newfield High School. Even as an adult, he still had many friends that lived there. He moved to Oklahoma with his family in 1998, where he made his home. He worked for over 30 years with motors and transmissions, always tinkering away at something mechanical. John loved working out in the yard and was a true momma’s boy. He had that strong New York accent and many referred to him by his nickname, New Yorker.

John was preceded in death by: his father, Edward J. Dixey, Sr.; brother, Michael J. Dixey; grandparents, Vincent and Dolores (Souci) Montefusco; Earl and Edna Dixey, and nephew, Joseph Michael Dixey. John is survived by: his mother, Carol Dixey of Ponca City, OK; brothers, Eddie Dixey of New York, Peter Dixey and David Dixey and his wife, Sandra, all of Ponca City, OK.

Although he did not have children of his own, he loved all of his nieces and nephews like his own. They include: Jennifer Dixey, Josh Dixey, Davey Dixey, Hailey Dixey, Tyler Wilkins, Allyson Wilkins, Elizabeth Wilkins, Layne Wilkins, Edward Dixey, Teresa Clark, Tad Dixey, James Dixey, Tiffany Dixey, Barbara Dotterweich, Mickey Dixey, Mario J. Dixey, Anna Dixey and Bridget Dixey. He also has numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. He was loved and cherished by all who know him.
