Darrell Sullins, 93, passed away on March 28, 2023. He was born July 15, 1929, to Oscar and Flova Sullins on the farm homesteaded by his grandfather John P. Sullins, September 16, 1893, northeast of Ceres, Oklahoma. Darrell lived his entire life there, with the exception of his final 4 ½ months spent at Green Valley Nursing Home.

Darrell’s first through eighth-grade education was obtained at Longview School, a one-room school located a quarter of a mile west of his home. His was the last class to graduate eighth grade there. He then attended Red Rock High School for four years graduating in 1947.

December 30, 1954, he married Norma Jean Foreman in the home of her parents Roy and Elsie Foreman, northwest of Red Rock. Their children were Daniel, Mark and Valinda Sullins. They lived at the homesteaded farm northeast of Ceres where they raised wheat and cattle. At the time of his passing Darrell still owned a herd of Charolais cattle, which he began 60 years ago.

Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his son Daniel, his sister and brother-in-law Katharine and Marion Veach, his brothers and sisters-in-law: Keith and Charlotte Sullins; Kenneth and Evelyn Sullins; Delbert and Joyce Sullins and brother-in-law Chuck Cooper, and sister-in-law Marie Cooper. His brothersin- law J.A. Megenity and Charles Hopper; his nephews Johnny Sullins, Dale Megenity; his nieces Joyce Ring and Elaine Lauterbach.

He is survived by his son Mark (Kathryn), daughter Valinda, grandson Zane (Trina), great granddaughter and great grandson Emlee Danielle and Cooper Wayne Sullins, all of Red Rock, and granddaughter Kailey Danielle Sullins of Cleburne, Texas. Also survived by his sisters-in-law Clara Megenity and Donna Hopper, nieces June Snider, Karen Root, Cheryl Sharp and Jennifer Dugan. Nephews David, Clark, Harold and Doug Sullins and Chuck and Craig Cooper.

Friends are welcome to stop by Brown- Dugger Funeral Home of Perry to pay respects on Friday, March 31, 2023, from 10 A.M. to 7 P.M. Services will be held at Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, Saturday April 1, 2023 at 2 P.M. Burial will follow afterword’s at Red Rock Cemetery.
