Shooting at Blackwell Braums leaves man in critical condition

On Tue., July 4, at 5:51 AM the Blackwell Police Department were called to an incident at the Braums Ice Cream and Dairy Store located at 823 N 44th St. When they arrived on scene, officers found a 77 year old male with a gunshot wound in the drive through of the restaurant. The victim was alive when they arrived and was taken to Stillwater Medical Blackwell and later emergency airflighted to Wesley Medical Center in Kansas. According to Blackwell Police Chief Brewer, the male is still alive to his knowledge and the Police Department has opened an investigation on the incident. There is no further news at this time.
