Kay County Board of Commissioners regular meeting

The Board of County Commissioners regular meeting was held Tuesday, January 19, 2021 instead of Monday January 18, due to court house being closed for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The meeting started at 9:00 a.m. and all three county commissioners, Kay County Clerk and Secretary, Tammy Reese, and District Attorney, Brian Hermanson were in attendance.

Donna Parker with Northern Oklahoma Court Services, gave her report for the month of December 2020. The month of December included six new service clients. Some of the businesses where these participants completed their community service hours include, but are not limited to, Northern Oklahoma Opportunity Center, Wheatheart

Nutrition, Northern Oklahoma Youth Services, Newkirk Main Street Authority, Northern Oklahoma Humane Society, City of Kaw City, and Newkirk Fire Department. Upcoming events for community service are Northern Oklahoma Humane Society, Habitat Restore, New Life Trails, Blackwell Fire Department, and Friendship Feast.

Chris Sieman, representative with AirMedCare Network, spoke regarding benefits of the County’s Group Plan, no action taken.

The Kay County Board of County Commissioners meetings are held each Monday of the month at the Kay County Courthouse in the Commissioners Court on the first floor of the courthouse at 9 a.m. Masks are encouraged and social distancing is suggested at all meetings.
