After fifty-five years, Inciardi Dance and Kem’s Gym will present a fun and artistic recital Monday evening, May 24, at the historic Poncan Theatre on Grand Avenue. Dancers will take the stage at 7:00 p.m. The public is invited at no charge.

About 100 dancers including dance students, gymnasts, dads, and vocalists will make up the cast. Chandler Brown will be presenting a solo. Chandler was Rookie Talent winner in Miss Oklahoma last year. Her routine was choreographed and taught by Cara Kem Cassens. This year she will be in the Miss Oklahoma pageant representing Miss Heartland. She has also been a Miss Ponca City. Chandler was the drill team prep teacher for the dance school.

Other dancers presenting solos include Aiden Gaston who is dancing a lyrical dance to “Morning Has Broken,” choreographed by Julie Empson, a former student of Mrs. Kem. Julie has taught for major studios in Tulsa and Oklahoma City. Yesenia Menchaca is dancing a ballet variation “Summer” from “The Seasons” by Glazunov. A fast and lively Charleston will be tapped by De’Iondra Tobias. De’Iondra won a special award last year at the OK-LA dance intensive in Oklahoma City.

A special ballet trio, “The Greatest Gift,” danced by Faith Ballinger, Ava O’Neill, and soloist Sydney Meeker will be on stage in Act I.

Dancers range in age from 3 years to 21. Cara Cassens will join her students in a couple of numbers.

“Hand Jive,” “Bop Til You Drop,” “Beat It,” “My Heart Will Go On,” “Rachmaninoff Ballet,” and “Daddies Little Girl” will be some of the numbers in the fifty-fifth year of Inciardi Dance and Kem’s Gym. Come and enjoy Retro Recital.
