CITY COMMISSION RECEPTION AND CEREMONY FEBRUARY 27 The Community is invited to attend a reception on Monday, February 27, at 5:00 p.m. in the Commission Chamber of City Hall honoring outgoing Commissioners Lanita Chapman and Shasta Scott and incoming Commissioners- Elect Garrett Bowers and Kelsey Wagner.

The presentation of service medallions to the outgoing Commissioners and the swearing-in ceremony for the incoming Commissioners will take place during the City Commission meeting, which will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Commission Chamber. Judge William Kirkpatrick will administer the Oath of Office.

Chapman has served as Commissioner for 15 years (5 terms) beginning in April of 2008. Scott has served as a Commissioner for 6 years (2 terms) beginning in March of 2017.

Wagner and Bowers ran unopposed for their Commission seats and will assume office for their terms on Monday, March 1, 2023.

NOC NURSING APPLICATION DEADLINE MARCH 1 The Northern Oklahoma College Nursing Program is currently applications for Fall 2023.

The deadline for applications is March 1.

Applicants must meet minimum program requirements for admission and be accepted to Northern Oklahoma College prior to acceptance in the Nursing Program. Applicants are selected based on qualifications and space availability.

NOC has nursing programs at Tonkawa, Enid, and Stillwater locations. Apply by March 1 for admission on all three campuses for Fall 2023.

NOC PROCESS TECHNOLOGY APPLICATIONS ACCEPTED Persons interested in the Northern Oklahoma College Tonkawa Process Technology Program have until March 15, 2023 to apply for the Fall 2023 semester.

Only students who fill out the on-line application will be considered. Program manager Frankie Wood-Black said the program is limited to 24 students.

Wood-Black added the program is available to anyone interested in Process Technology.

The review process begins in late March, applicants will be notified of the review process. The application may be found at http://www.noc.edu/ ptechapplication .

THS ALUMNI SEEK NOMINATIONS FOR 2023 DISTINGUISHED ALUM The Tonkawa Alumni Association is requesting nominations for the 2023 Distinguished Alumni Award. The recipient(s) will be honored during Homecoming weekend.

The award has been given since 2006 to outstanding THS graduates whose personal lives, professional achievements and contribution to society exemplify the standards of excellence promoted through their education at Tonkawa High School.

Nominations will be accepted until May 1, 2023. Forms can be printed from the Alumni Website at www.tonkawaalumni. com, picked up from the high school office, or completed digitally at the website.

TALL COP SAYS STOP COMING TO PONCA CITY Officer Galloway devotes most of his time educating professionals and communities on drug and alcohol prevention and enforcement. Tall Cop Says Stop has trained more than 655,000 people nationwide and internationally. “High in Plain Sight” is a nationally recognized program, provides training and enforcement strategies for community substance problems.
