Fairfield by Marriott closed their doors at the end of March during the COVID-19 lockdown while starting renovations. After some set backs including a construction crew member getting COVID-19, the renovations have been underway and many changes have been made.
“We’re excited and ready to open,” said Katheryn Mathews, Operation Manager. “It’s been a long process, but it is almost done.”
Fairfield is under new management, but the new General Manager Luis Nazario has brought back the old team which are very close knit.
“We’re like a family here,” said Mathews.
The hotel has installed several new amenities and technologies. State of the art exercise equipment has been installed in the gym with tv monitors that can display video of other places to make it feel as though you are in Central Park or walking near the Eiffel Tower.
Each room also has a 55 inch smart TV that comes on as soon as you check in. The smart TVs can be used to log in to your own Netflix or YouTube accounts. All information is erased after you check out, so no one can access your accounts.
The TVs also display menus of entertainment in town as well as information of restaurants and gyms.
The hotel staff are taking extra measures towards COVID-19 awareness. Remotes will have bags that are continually replaced, alcohol wipes in various rooms as well as free standing hand sanitizer dispensers and markers on the floor indicating distance.
Guests checking in between now and the 31st get 1000 extra Marriott points that can be used towards flights, Marriott credit cards and other amenities.
The grand opening will be held on Oct. 26 at 9:00 a.m.
