Bowling leagues will be returning to Ponca Bowl over the next two months.

COVID-19 and the statewide shutdown back in March 2020 caused some of the leagues at Ponca Bowl to end their bowling early or extend it by a month or so. Of the five adult leagues, three decided to end the season and the other two completed the season, ending in May 2020.

Most of the leagues are open to men and women, but there are leagues for women only. Leagues bowl on week day nights and during the afternoon. There is also a youth league where bowlers earn college scholarship funds just for bowling. The Senior Citizen league is one of the larger leagues in the Ponca City Area and provides senior’s an opportunity to exercise and socialize with others. Bowling is a sport to be enjoyed by all regardless of age. All are welcomed to join in a sport that can be enjoyed for a lifetime. Presently, there will be the following leagues offered.

Officials of the various leagues have set dates and times for organizational meetings. At these meetings, bowlers discuss league rules, fees, and determine when the league will begin and end.

The Wednesday Foursome – a ladies’ league – bowls at 11:15 a.m. on Wednesdays and will have their meeting Friday, Aug. 14 at 4 p.m. Astro League bowls on Tuesday nights and Ladies Classic bowls on Wednesday nights.

Metro Classic League, which bowls on Wednesday nights, will have an organizational meeting at 6:15 p.m. on Aug. 26 and start bowling on Sept. 2.

Senior Citizen League, which bowls on Tuesday afternoons, will start on Sept. 1. The Youth Bowling League will start on Aug. 29 at 1:30 p.m.
