PONCA CITY, Okla., – To help address hunger in our community, and in celebration of National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day on April 2, AllianceHealth Ponca City is collecting jars of peanut butter (and other nut butters) with a goal to support NERA (New Emergency Resource Agency) and Friendship Feast in Ponca City, Associated Charities Food Distribution of Blackwell, and Tonwaka Fish & Loaves Food Pantry.

The community of Ponca City is invited to join AllianceHealth Ponca City employees, medical staff members, and volunteers to fight hunger and food insecurity in our communities.

You may be wondering why a peanut butter drive… Peanut butter is high in nutritional value, has a long shelf life, and widespread popularity, making it a much needed item for food banks. But, even though it is easy to buy, easy to donate, and a great source of protein, many food banks in the U.S. say peanut butter is one of the least donated items.

Through your generosity and participation, we can change that in our community. You can help by donating a jar, or two, or even more. Let’s collect as much peanut butter (or other nutritious butters like almond butter or sunflower seed butter) until March 24th. Please donate peanut butter in plastic - not glass - jars.

AllianceHealth Ponca City is excited about this opportunity to help others as we continue to demonstrate our care for our communities. So let’s spread a little love together. One peanut butter jar makes a big difference! Please call AllianceHealth Ponca City at 580-763-0878 to schedule a pickup by March 24.
