OKLAHOMA CITY (February 26, 2021) – Six of the cars used in “Ford v Ferrari” – including the red Porsche speedster driven by Matt Damon’s character - will be on display at the 104th anniversary of the Oklahoma City Auto Show.

In addition to the six cars appearing during the entirety of the show, there will also be limited opportunities for kids to sit inside the movie cars for a donation of any size by their parents or guardians. Proceeds will go to charities to include Redline4Kids and Oklahoma Christian Academy. The 104th anniversary of the Oklahoma City International Auto Show is being held March 5-7 at Oklahoma State Fair Park in the Bennett Event Center, starting at 8 a.m. all three days of the show.

“To have an opportunity to take the autos we have all seen on-screen in “Ford v Ferrari” and showcase them here at the OKC Auto Show is incredible,” Metropolitan Auto Dealers Association Chairman Dale Daniels said. “It’s not often anyone gets a chance to stand right next to movie cars, so we know there will be a lot of kids and adults who will be excited to take part in this rare experience at this year’s auto show.”

Among the cars being brought out for this unique public appearance are the 1966 red Ford GT40 used in both the major race scenes, the 1967 GT40 car that was used in all of the airplane hangar scenes, the silver 1964 Corvette, the blue and silver Porsche speedster race car used in the opening LeMans race scene and Willow Springs race scene, the tan 1956 Corvette Roadster #106 used in the Willow Springs race scene, and the Porsche driven by Damon’s character Carroll Shelby.

Jay Cooper, who helped organize the gathering of the six cars for the OKC Auto Show, said this was the largest collection of “Ford v Ferrari” movie cars ever publicly displayed in one location. With the cars in the public eye, he said it makes sense to allow kids to experience firsthand what it is like to be inside the famous race cars.

“We realize the level of excitement that will be generated by just having this group of movie cars in one location for the public to see," Cooper said. "We thought it would be even better if we allowed some of the visitors to experience the feeling of actually being inside the cars. This is an incredible collection of cars and we can’t wait to share it with visitors to this year’s auto show.”

Opportunities to sit in the cars will be limited to those kids whose parents or guardians make a donation of any amount. Photos are encouraged. The cars, which are courtesy of Exotic Motorsports of Oklahoma, will be continuously disinfected throughout the show.

The Oklahoma City Auto Show is one of the largest consumer shows in Oklahoma and will feature a variety of entertaining activities for adults and kids. In addition to the six “Ford v Ferrari” movie cars courtesy of Exotic Motorsports of Oklahoma, the Oklahoma City Auto Show will also spotlight the return of the Futurliner #10; dozens of automobiles from the Oklahoma Hot Rod Association; the 18-Hole Mini-Golf Course Experience with proceeds benefiting the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma; a drivein movie screen featuring the Disney Pixar hit movie “Cars;” exotic cars; a “Coffee and Cars OKC” event; pet adoptions from Subaru Loves Pets and Second Chance Animal Sanctuary; military vehicles; custom vehicles like Shelby, Roush, Black Widow, SCA, Rocky Ridge and Tuscany from Metro Ford Customs; a VIP event; and lots and lots of 2021 new cars and trucks from 17 automobile brands.

Among the precautions being taken are to have autonomous temperature checks at the entrances, hand sanitizing stations set up throughout the building, designated eating areas, and ongoing sanitizing and disinfecting of vehicles for the duration of the event.
