The Po-Hi Wildcat Theatre Company will be performing Antigone on October 23, 24 at 7:00 p.m. and on October 25 at 2:00 p.m. Due to Covid restrictions, the performances will be held outside in the courtyard of City Central. The Po-Hi Wildcat Theatre Company is under the direction of Ami Hensley and assistant director for this production Ella Stephens.

Director Ami Hensley explains, “This is our second outdoor performance, and we are especially grateful to the Ponca City Development Authority for their continued support of our fledgling theatre program in inviting us to use the courtyard.”

Antigone is a Greek Tragedy written by Sophocles in the 5th century B.C.E. It is the tragic story in the cursed family of Oedipus. Antigone is his daughter who must take a stand against a harsh, and contradictory law declared by the King of Thebes, Creon. She does what she believes is right, breaking the law, knowing the price she will have to pay for doing so.

Tickets are available now at MySchoolBucks.com. They are $15 for reserved seating (closest to the stage area), $10 for open seating on the first tier, and $5 for open seating on the top tier. First tier and top tier audiences are encouraged to bring camp chairs or picnic blankets on which to relax and enjoy the performance. Chairs will be provided for reserved seating.
