Laureate Phi meetings and socials held

Members met at Enrique’s for lunch with two guests attending. Sandy Sibley and Donna Lockhart were guests. At the luncheon meeting members elected Valentine Queen for 2022-2023 for the chapter. Robin Cnossen was selected. Date set for February 17th to have husbands and friends to celebrate with dinner for our Queen. The place was decided upon for the dinner to be at Kat’s in Lamont, OK.

Putin says Russia, China reach ‘new milestones’ on cooperation

President Vladimir Putin said he’s waiting for his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping to visit Russia as he hailed deepening ties with Beijing at talks with China’s top diplomat. Cooperation between Russia and China is “very important for stabilizing the international situation,” Putin told Chinese State Councilor Wang Yi at talks in Moscow on Wednesday, asking him to pass on greetings to “my friend” Xi.

New report highlights fruit, vegetable and sugarsweetened beverage intake among young children

OSDH encourages families to incorporate fruits and vegetables into meals daily OKLAHOMA CITY – A new study released, Variations in Fruit, Vegetable, and Sugar-Sweetened Beverage Intake Among Young Children by State, United States 2021, analyzed data from the 2021 National Survey of Children’s Health and found that many young children between one and five years of age are not eating fruits and vegetables daily and are regularly drinking sugarsweetened beverages (SSBs). According to the study, in Oklahoma, among children ages one through five, 37.5% did not eat a daily fruit during the preceding week compared to 32.1% nationally, 57.5% did not eat a daily vegetable during the preceding week compared to 49.1% nationally, and 72.6% drank a SSB at least one weekly compared to 57.1% nationally.
