Women who love horseradish may be getting more than a little extra kick when adding the condiment to their favorite foods or even their brunchtime Bloody Marys. Though it may not be a typical veggie, horseradish is a cruciferous vegetable. That’s good news for women horseradish lovers, as researchers at the University of Western Australia’s School of Medical and Health Sciences found that women who ate more cruciferous vegetables had healthier carotid arteries than those who ate less vegetables.

This event is one of the most highly anticipated events in our community and is the primary fundraising event for Survivor Resource Network’s domestic violence shelter. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. for heavy hors d’oeuvres. The fashion show will begin at 7:00 p.m.

Newkirk man arrested in sexual assault case

Bryson Eliot Bear Tucker, 20, of Newkirk, was arrested under the charges of lewd or indecent proposals or acts to a child under 16 and forcible sodomy. He was accused of this by two members of his family that were around the age of 11 during the time of the incidents. He was booked into the Kay County Detention Center on Fri., Feb. 17.
