OKLAHOMA CITY – The Senate Education Committee approved legislation Tuesday to help fill the large number of teaching vacancies in the state. Retired teacher Sen. Ron Sharp, R-Shawnee, said his Senate Bill 1115 is desperately needed to help decrease classroom sizes by extending emergency teaching certificates.

In Custody — At 7:15 a.m. Tuesday a subject on Elmwood reported a male subject broke down her back door and ran through her house. Officers responded and found Joshua Beason, 42, hiding in a closet. He was arrested for unlawful entry.

THE STUDENTS at PCPS Wildcat Academy are learning life skills from local volunteer Sean Searle. He comes to the school every Thursday and teachings life skills to students. Sean says he volunteers his time to help the students deal with relationships, faith, money, careers, etc. Pictured are Mary Rathbun and Sean Searle in one picture and Elaina Smith and Katy Cramer with Audrey Choney and Kalley Horn.
