Wilma Mae Mullennax, longtime resident of Ponca City, passed away at her home Sunday, April 22, 2018. She was 89.
A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 26, at Sunset Baptist Church with the Rev. Matt Click officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25, at Trout Funeral Home and Crematory.
Casket bearers will be, Pat Bunty, Steve Tucker, Gary Tucker, Pat Lynch, Adam Mullennax and Justin Mullennax.
Wilma was born on May 30, 1929, in Pawnee, one of six children born the daughter of George H. and Mary Callie Martin Marrs. She attended school in Pawnee and graduated in 1947.
On Dec. 21, 1946, she married James I. Mullennax in Sedan, Kan. and the couple moved to Ponca City in 1950.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting and crafts. She was a faithful member of Sunset Baptist Church for many years. She was also an avid volunteer for the community.
Survivors include two sons, James Mullennax and wife Marilyn, of Columbus, Ga. and Terry Mullennax and wife Connie, of Ponca City; grandchildren, James Adam Mullennax and wife Brandy, of Lugoff, S.C., Amy, of Columbia, S.C. and Justin Mullennax and wife Cassara, of Winfield, Kan.; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Emma Tucker, of Pawnee and Louise Bishop, of Ponca City and one special niece, Debbie Lynch and husband Pat, of Oklahoma City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James; two brothers and one sister.
