Velda Miller, passed away on Monday, April 9, 2018, in Ponca City. She was 89 years old. Velda was born on Aug. 15, 1928 in Peterson, Utah, to her parents, George Melvin Mildon and Edith Morris Mildon. She grew up in Ogden, Utah, graduating from Ogden High School. She married Truman Dickison on Dec. 17, 1945, at the Salt Lake Temple in Salt Lake City, Utah. The family moved to Ponca City in 1957. She later married Joe Miller in Ponca City. Joe and Velda were married 45 years until his death in July of 2015.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister and two brothers.
She is survived by her sons, Ray Dickison and wife Maggie, of Del City, Lee Dickison and wife Jackie, of Tonkawa, Wayne Dickison, of Ponca City, Jerry Dickison and wife Joanna, of Ponca City; daughter, Betty Hall, of Ponca City; as well as 14 grandchildren and 53 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 11, at Longwood Cemetery in Ponca City. Family will be available to greet friends on Tuesday, April 10, from 6-8 p.m. at Trout Funeral Home and Crematory in Ponca City.
Casket bearers will be, Lee Dickison, Ray Dickison, Jerry Dickison, Wayne Dickison, James Hall and Brian Dickison.
