Shelby Scott Stevens, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2017, in Ponca City. He was 47.
Scott was born on March 9, 1970 in Tulsa, to his parents, Shelby Joe Stevens and Sandra Sue Hilton Stevens. He graduated from Shidler High School in 1988. He was self employed for many years before he worked for Sooner Construction and Ponca City Hospital. For the past four years, he worked as the maintenance supervisor for South Central Kansas Medical Center in Arkansas City, Kan. He enjoyed hunting for arrowheads, fishing and anything that brought him closer to the water. When he was younger, he enjoyed rebuilding and painting cars and had a talent for construction and remodeling homes.
He is survived by his daughter, Taylor Stevens and fiancé Josh, of Ponca City and their children, Kaden Barnes and Levi Barnes; girlfriend, Ashlie Stone, of Kaw City and her six boys, Caden, Kiden, Dakota, Gunner, Harper and Elliott; sisters, Shelley Smith and husband David, of Ponca City and Kelli Yerby and husband Jeff, of Dallas, Texas; brother, Matthew Kyle Stevens, of Kaw City; aunts, Mary Harkins, of Kaw City and Trisha Orr and husband Wayne, of Eufaula; 10 nieces and nephews, numerous grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ernest Hilton and Mildred Baker; paternal grandparents, Shelby and Pauline Stevens and his parents.
A memorial will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 20, at 10 a.m. at Trout Funeral Home and Crematory in Ponca City.
