Michael Dwayne Ward was born June 13, 1962 in Memphis, Tenn. to Robert Farrell Ward and Luella Jane Downey Ward.
Michael passed from his earthly home on Friday, Oct. 26, 2018 very unexpectedly at his home in Lumberton, Texas.
Michael graduated from Ponca City High School in 1980, moving to Houston after graduation and while there he married Karen Sue Bartlett, also of Ponca City. Soon after, to this marriage a daughter, Kerye Lucia Ward, was born. He then joined the U.S. Navy, and a son, Timothy Michael Ward, was born while stationed in New London, Conn. Later, they were stationed in Hawaii, and while there he attended college and received his bachelor’s degree.
Serving ten years in the Navy with an Honorable Discharge, he went to work for Texas Instruments in Dallas, Texas. He served them for 23 years.
He married Lori Ward in Plano, Texas.
His passion was riding his motorcycle on short trips or across the country. Since retirement he had purchased a toy hauler to make their home.
Michael is preceded in death by his father, Bob Ward; his stepfather, Buck Eddings; and his brother Ronald Farrell.
Michael is survived by his mother Luella (Jannie) Eddings, of Morrison, Okla.; daughter Kerye Lucia and granddaughter Onyx Tivona, all of Dallas, Texas; son Timothy Michael Ward, wife Alexandra and grandson Leonel David Ward (this family is stationed in Spain with the U.S. Air Force); and a sister Jere Fleming, of San Jose, Calif.; nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and many friends.
Memorial service will be announced at a later date.
