ARKANSAS CITY, Kan. — Linda Marie Trenary, Arkansas City, Kan., resident, died Saturday, June 10, 2017, at South Central Kansas Medical Center, Arkansas City. She was 78.
She was born May 15, 1939 to Elijah Ray and Ruth Marie Billbe Boyer in Bartlesville. She grew up in Blackwell, where she also attended school and graduated from Blackwell High school in 1957.
On March 28, 1958, she married John Thomas Trenary in Wellington, Kan. They established their first home in Blackwell. Over time, the couple lived in several areas of Kay County. In 1992 they moved to Arkansas City where they have since resided. John died Aug. 26, 2012.
Linda’s work history includes employment in nursing home laundry departments and as an associate at Walmart stores in Blackwell and Ponca City.
She was a member of Peckham Christian Church. She enjoyed reading her bible and daily devotionals. In past years she grew large gardens and canned the produce she watched grow. Her greatest joys were her grand and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Cynthia Lynn “Cindy” Randol, of Newkirk and Neal Wade Trenary, of Arkansas City; her siblings, Gary Boyer, of Blackwell, Ron Boyer, of Durant, Kathy Fitch, of Newkirk and John Boyer, of Bethany; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband of 54 years, she was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Bob Boyer, Allen Boyer and Kenny Boyer.
At her request, cremation has been effected under the direction of Miller-Stahl Funeral Service, Newkirk and no service is planned.
