Leslie G. Pappen, of Ponca City, passed away on Wednesday March 28, 2018. Born on Nov. 8, 1945, in Brownwood, Texas. He was the son of Clifford and Pauline Lawrence (Parkman) and one of six children. He attended high school in Cedar Vale, Kan. After high school he enlisted in the Navy.
Les went on to get his degree in radiology at Wichita State University and continued his education in nuclear medicine. He retired as director of medicine in Junction City, Kan.
His interest and hobbies included golf, fishing and a lifelong passion of roping and working with horses. He was always willing to help people.
He is survived by two brothers, John Dixon and Clifford Lawrence Jr.; two sisters, Shirley Parrott and Vickie Pappen; three grandchildren; a son, Matthew Pappen and a stepson, Jeramy Bain and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother; brother, Bobby Pappen and daughter, Kimberly Pappen.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 19, at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Winfield, Kan.
