John Joseph Rhea passed from this life Thursday, May 17, 2018, at his home, after a short time battling cancer.
John was born June 10, 1954, the son of Robert E. Rhea and Ruby M. Rhea. John graduated from Ponca City High School where he met and married Brenda Barton, they had one daughter, Kristina Rhea. He later married Ginny Moneymaker and they had three sons Jason, Justin and Adam Rhea.
As a young man he worked as a carpenter building churches. He later worked at Titus as a machinist for 21 years. He took great pride in his work there.
John loved to go hunting and fishing and his fondest memories were when he would go deer hunting with his dad and brothers in Wisconsin. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and nieces and nephews at family gatherings.
He is survived by his mother, Ruby M. Rhea Prouty; daughter, Kristina Rhea Malcom; sons, Jason Rhea and Adam Rhea and siblings, Carolyn Rhea Delaney, Pamela Rhea Palmer-Tayrien, Larry Rhea, Jean Rhea, Mike Rhea, Timothy Rhea, Rebecca “Becky” Rhea and Richard Horinek.
He was preceded in passing by his father, Robert E. Rhea; step-mother, Maxine; brother, Robert C. Rhea; infant son, Justin Rhea and step-fathers, Arnold Horinek and Frank K. Prouty.
A graveside service was held at Odd Fellows CemeterySNbSon Monday, May 21, with Tom Howard, chaplain, officiating. Arrangements were under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service and Cremation Directors, Enid.
The family wishes to give thanks to Hospice of North Central Oklahoma for their dedication in the care of John.
