Joan Isley, passed away Sunday morning, Aug. 13, 2017, in Ponca City. She was 92 years of age. Joan was born on Sept. 2, 1924, in Warrington, England, the daughter of Frank and Margaret Thomason Parker.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home, Monday, Aug. 14, from 4-8 p.m. and Tuesday, Aug. 15, from 8 a.m.-9 p.m. with the family greeting friends and relatives from 6-8 p.m. Arrangements are under the care of Grace Memorial Chapel.
Joan grew up in England and came to America as a young lady. She married Ray R. Isley on Sept. 29, 1948, in Bozeman, Mont. and they made their home in Iowa. She worked several years for the Ace Hardware store in Perry, Iowa and moved to Ponca City in 2001. She was known for her knitting and knitted numerous caps for kids with cancer.
Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Ray; one son, Tom Isley and wife Deb, of Ohio; two daughters, Pam Moorhead and Dennis Fisher, of Rose Bud, Ark. and Wendy Clague, of Ponca City. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Jessica Neighbors and Eric Mavis and Emily Clague and Jordan Jaco; one great-grandchild, J.J. Neighbors and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents and nine siblings.
