James Clarence Gillock


James “Jim” Clarence Gillock

Jim was born on Jan. 22, 1948. and raised in Ponca City, and passed away Sept. 18, 2018. He loved sports. He played basketball, baseball, and was best known for playing receiver for the Ponca City High School Wildcats before graduating in the class of 1966. Jim attended classes at Northern Oklahoma College. He also served his country for six years in the National Guard.

Jim was a truly happy and fun person. He never met a stranger, and taught us all to be kind and caring. He loved his family and friends more than anything. We were all so lucky to have him as a father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

James Gillock is preceded in death by his father, Jack Gillock, and his mother, Pauline Gillock Ritter. He is survived by his daughter Megan, son-in-law Greg, granddaughter Jade, grandson Damien, and his brothers Clayton and Greg and their families.

A memorial will be held for friends and family at the Poncan Theatre on October 27th. Time to be announced.
