Gordon Thomas Hard, age 89, resident of Tonkawa, died Monday, Jan. 29, 2018, at Ponca Nursing Home. He was 89.
The family is planning a graveside service in Elburn, Ill., at a future date. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home and Crematory.
Gordon was born on Jan. 21, 1929, in High Point, N.C. He spent much of his life in northern Illinois. Gordon took up playing the drums and especially enjoyed playing jazz music. He played all over the Chicago area. He was also a self-taught TV repairman. Eventually, life brought him to Tonkawa, where he found even greater success as a TV repairman and later provided computer repairs for Northern Oklahoma College.
Survivors include his children, Jayne Hard, of Tulsa, Gordon D. Hard, of Newark, Ill. and Kathy Krughoff, of Boulder, Colo. and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lois; son, Scott Hard and his brother, Jim Hard.
