Denise Marie Long of Northglenn, Colorado died Wednesday morning, May 29, 2019 at her home at the age of 52 years.
Denise Marie Long was born on December 17, 1966 in Boulder, Colorado to Howard Charles and Carolyn Marie (Fox) Atkinson. She grew up in the Boulder area and graduated from Boulder High School. She attended Front Range Community College and received her Associates Degree in accounting. She married Linn Lary Long II on June 1, 1991 and divorced in 2010. She was the Cookie Mom for her children’s Girl Scout Troop for many years. She worked for King Soopers, Frontier Airlines and Southwest Airlines in Denver.
She is survived by her parents of Longmont, CO, formerly of Blackwell, OK; her children, Courtney Linn Zarnes and her husband Daniel of Fredrick, CO; Natalie Marie Long and her husband Nate of Englewood, CO; Whitney Leigh Long and Lary Tyler Long of Black Forest, CO; two grandchildren, Morgan Ryleigh Long and Axcel Guage Long of Englewood, CO; a brother, Howard Dewayne Atkinson of Mooresville, IN; two sisters, Dawna Jeane Schneider of Thornton, CO and Carolyn Dyann DeFalco of Windsor, CO.
She also leaves many nieces and nephews as follows: Patrick Ryan Atkinson of W. Lafayette, IN; Michael Thomas Atkinson of the US Air Force; Dexter Raymond Schneider, Aurora Dawn Schneider and Sidney Charles Schneider of Thornton, CO; Nichole Christine DeFalco of Longmont, CO; Jordan Michael DeFalco of Windsor, CO and Brandon Scott DeFalco of Lafayette, CO.
Services were held Friday, June 7, 2019 at 1:30 at the Olinger Highland Mortuary in Thornton, CO.
