ARKANSAS CITY — The Quality Matters Conference recognizes faculty, staff, and institutions for advancing quality assurance. Quality Matters (QM), a leader in quality assurance for online education, recently held its 10th annual conference, “Gateway to Quality,” in St. Louis Missouri Oct. 30 – Nov. 2. During the conference, Eddie Andreo, Cowley College’s associate vice president of distance learning and site management, was presented with the 2018 Award for Exceptional Service.
The Award for Exceptional Service is presented to members of the QM community who have gone above and beyond common service to the organization. Andreo has made extraordinary contributions to QM’s quality assurance efforts.
Also during the conference, educators explored quality assurance in online learning at all levels of an organization, with a focus on recharging organizational efforts to build a culture of continuous improvement.
Along with Andreo, individuals and groups that exemplify QM’s focus on student learning through the implementation of QM standards, practices and processes that demonstrate impact on student success were recognized at the conference.
The QM Connect event was a three-day conference featuring more than 100 workshops and sessions illuminating pathways to excellence for educators and learners. Meeting keynotes examining trends and issues affecting the quality of education today and tomorrow provide context for the robust engagement of hundreds of education professionals.

Quality Matters (QM) is an international, U.S.-based non-profit organization specializing in standards, processes and professional development for quality assurance in online and blended learning.
