ARKANSAS CITY — With Halloween approaching, the Cowley College Jazz Band and Concert Band are preparing for their first concert of the Fall semester. The concert, titled “Fear”, will be performed at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, October 21 in the Robert Brown Theatre.

The jazz band will present a program of mainstream tunes written for the jazz ensemble, while the program for the concert band consists of works that inspire fear with inspirations from snakes, ghosts, witches, and fear itself.

“We will be featuring a piece written for wind band and theremin,” Cowley College director of instrumental music Evan Ricker said.

There is no cost to attend this thrilling and possibly chilling performance by the Cowley bands.
