The Ponca City Association of Classroom Teachers is hosting a Candidate Forum on Thursday, June 14. The Forum will be held in the Seminar Room at Pioneer Technology Center at 6:30 p.m. The Forum will focus on issues related to Education in Oklahoma. The public is invited to attend.
This election cycle is a critical one for the State of Oklahoma. Problem areas and the need for education reform in Oklahoma was brought to the forefront with the The Teacher Walk Out in April. And the newly elected officials will make a difference with how these problems and other issues affecting the state are solved. Educators urge Oklahoma voters to study the candidates in order to make an informed choice.
This Forum is designed to give educators and the public an opportunity to determine each candidates stance on educational topics.
Candidates for House District 37 Steve Vaughan and Ken Luttrell and Senate District 10 Bill Coleman and Gary R. Lanham have agreed to participate. Amber Roberts who is running for Senate District 10 has not responded to the invitation at this time.
All of the candidates will be given the opportunity to address the audience at the opening and closing of the Forum. In between, the candidates will be given a series of question on education issues.
Audience members will have the opportunity to submit additional questions before the event at a table set up outside of the seminar room
