Accident hurts two juveniles

An injury accident was reported on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 4:30 p.m. on the Arkansas River near State Line Road, located approximately eight miles north and 6.5 miles eat of Newkirk. The collision was not reported to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol until 11:38 p.m. that evening.
According to the OHP report, a 15-year-old juvenile male of Newkirk was operating a 2003 Honda EX 300 ATV.
The operator was treated and released with trunk internal injuries.
A passenger, a 13-year-old juvenile female of Newkirk, was also injured. She was transported by private vehicle at 10 p.m. by other juveniles to the Newkirk Fire Department, transported by ambulance to AllianceHealth Ponca City and then transferred by AirEvac to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. She is listed in stable condition with head and trunk internal injuries.
The investigation into the accident is pending.
The scene was investigated by Trooper Adam Beck #700 of the Kay/Noble County detachment. He was assisted by Trooper Coby Snyder #271 of the Kay/Noble County detachment.
