Patricia Mae Ray

BLACKWELL — Patricia Mae "Pat" Ray, resident of Tonkawa, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, in the Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home in Blackwell. She was 70.

A memorial service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, in the chapel of Roberts and Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Foos of Image Hospice officiating.

Patricia Mae "Pat" Ray was born March 4, 1939, in Kansas City, Kan., the daughter of David and Viola Gill Griest. She grew up in Phoenix, Ariz., attending Phoenix public schools. She worked at a grocery store and later for the stock exchange as a board girl.

She married Charles O. Ray in Winterhaven, Calif. They settled in Phoenix, Ariz., and she worked for Motorola. They later moved to several towns before settling in Pine Top, Ariz., where she worked as a housekeeper for a guest house. In 1992 they moved to Tonkawa and she cooked for nursing homes.

Survivors include two daughters, Katherine Minix of Tonkawa and Bonnie Williams of Colfax, Iowa; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband on July 21, 1995; her parents; and one brother, David Griest.

A memorial has been established at Image Hospice in Blackwell, c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Okla. 74631.
