Tonkawa Man Pleads Guilty in Burglary Case |
|
NEWKIRK Charles Star Warrior, 28, Tonkawa, pleaded guilty in Kay County District Court to a felony count of second degree burglary.
Warrior was arrested in connection with the attempted burglary of the Stop N Go located at 1301 West Highland.
Warrior and Timothy Robert Primeaux, 27, Ponca City, were caught by the store owner and an employee trying to burglarize the business on Oct. 6, 2008.
Primeaux pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced to a five year suspended sentence in the Oklahoma Department of Corrections.
Sentencing for Warrior was deferred for five years.
A felony charge of cruelty to animals was dismissed against Warrior.
In that case Warrior was accused of breeding a pit bull and then neglecting it.
A neighbor would feed and nurse the dog back to health and the cycle would be repeated. After several times Tonkawa Animal Control was contacted and the dog was taken to a veterinarian.
Dr. Gerald O'Mealey determined the dog had a bad case of mange, malnourished, and infested with fleas resulting in the dog being put to sleep.
Warrior was arrested on the charge in October of 2007.
The case was dismissed on Sept. 21 by Judge Phil Ross. Published Wed, Dec 9, 2009, On Page 5 B Copyright ©1998-2010 The Ponca City News |
