Three Plead Guilty in PC Drug Case

NEWKIRK — Three people arrested by Ponca City police in the 200 block of West Broadway on April 10, 2009 and charged with felony count of unlawful possession of controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, three felony counts of possession of a sawed off shotgun and a count of possession of a firearm with altered serial number while committing a felony have entered pleas of guilty and have been sentenced.

David Lamar Brown, 36, Tonkawa, was sentenced to seven years in the Oklahoma Department of Corrections after he entered a plea of guilty in Kay County District Court to a felony count of unlawful possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

After Brown serves three years of the seven, the balance is suspended.

Brown received an additional four years in DOC on the other charges.

Justin Keith Melius, 24, Ponca City, entered a plea of guilty to the charges and was sentenced to to years in DOC, after serving six months, the balance is suspend. He was also given two five year suspended sentences.

Michael Wayne Holdeman Jr., 25, Ponca City, entered a plea of guilty and was sentenced to 15 years in DOC. After serving five years the balance is suspended.
