Friends of the Library Book Sale Nears End |
|
The Friends of the Library fall $2 per bag book sale ends Nov. 16.
Nice books are still available at that price, said Wayne Moore, vice president of the Friends of the Library.
Following that sale, the group is lowering the price on Readers Digest Condensed books to 10 cents each.
Some of the books will be on the shelf across from the Circulation Desk and more are downstairs in the book sale room.
In December the group will sell oversize coffee-table books. These will include some Time-Life history, art books, travel, other history and other subjects and will be priced at $4 each or three for $10.
There are around 125 to 130 books for this sale, which last about three weeks. It is the last sale of the year.
From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 4, the library staff and the Friends of the Library will host a Christmas open house inside the west entrance. There will be hot cider, coffee and cookies.
Applications for membership in Friends of the Library will be available.
At 4 p.m., out in front of the library, Santa's Workshop will be available for the kids.
In February, Friends of the Library will have its annual sale of romance paperbacks in a baker's dozen loaf, randomly bundled and taped shut. All money raised go to support the extra programs offered by the library.
A list of the Friends of the Library lifetime members has been posted in the book sale room. Those who want to join may get a membership application at the circulation desk. There is a nominal fee for membership which also helps support library programs. Published Mon, Nov 9, 2009, On Page 2 A Copyright ©1998-2010 The Ponca City News |
