Landfill Fire — A Kay County deputy contacted the Blackwell Police Department at 12:46 a.m. Thursday and reported the Davis Landfill near Tonkawa was on fire. The owner was contacted and responded "It should not be." Blackwell officers checked the location and reported Davis Sanitation workers were there. The workers denied starting the fire.

Illegal Burning Reported — A woman contacted the Osage County Sheriff's Department at 11:41 a.m. Thursday and reported that a subject has been illegally burning old trailers, fiberglass and wood in the 2100 block of City View Road. The McCord Fire Department was notified and the matter was referred to the fire marshal.
