Sales Tax Decreases
Ponca City's sales tax return for the period May 16 to June 15 from the Oklahoma Tax Commission decreased by 7.88 percent over the same period last year. The total net sales tax collections was $926,410.
Marc LaBossiere, city financial officer, said this is the final month of the fiscal year and total collections for the year decreased by 5.12 percent over collections of the previous year. Strength in use tax collections during the year contributed positively to combined sales and use tax revenues, which fell short of the original budget by 3.66 percent.
