Voters Can Use Absentee Ballot Friday or March 1

NEWKIRK — Registered voters in Kay County who want to vote by mail absentee ballot in next Tuesday's Newkirk municipal election and Tonkawa School District I-87 election have missed the application deadline, County Election Board Secretary Carol Kellum said today.

"They aren't out of luck, however." Kellum said.

Voters who want to cast absentee ballots still can do so at the County Election Board office from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and March 1. A two-member, bipartisan Absentee Voting Board will be on duty each day to assist voters.

Contact the County Election Board, 201 South Main Street, in Newkirk for more information. The telephone number is 580-362-2130.
