Court Date Set for Giving Officer False Information

NEWKIRK — Mildred Warrior, 21, Ponca City, was sentenced to five years in the Oklahoma Department of Corrections by Judge Leslie Page on a felony charge of distribution of controlled substance.

Warrior was arrested in February of 2007 on that charged and pleaded guilty to the charged on April 3, 2008.

Sentencing was delayed pending the outcome of Drug Court.

Warrior was arrested again by Newkirk police on May 19, 2009, at the intersection of 15th Street and U.S. 77 and later charged with a felony count of falsely impersonating another to create liability.

According to the affidavit prepared by Newkirk police officer Bobby Kehn, the officer stopped the vehicle Warrior was driving after learning of a burglary that took place in Arkansas City, Kan.

Kehn requested assistance from a Kaw Nation officer and a Kansas Highway Patrol unit also responded.

Kehn states that Warrior gave him a false identity and did not have a driver's license.

Warrior and her passenger allegedly had stolen a bottle of liquor from an Arkansas City liquor store.

The passenger agreed to return to the store with the trooper and pay for the bottle.

Warrior was placed under arrest and transported to the Kay County jail.

She is scheduled to appear on an attorney status review on that charge on March 31.
