Robert and Doris Nesselrode of Ponca City, are announcing the engagement of their daughter, Sally A. Nesselrode, to Frederick R. Berger, son of Raymond and Charlotte Berger of Star City, Ind.

The couple will be married June 7 on the Tom Sawyer Riverboat at the Gateway Arch Riverfront in St. Louis, Mo.

A 1983 graduate of Ponca City High School, the bride-elect earned a bachelor's degree from Oklahoma State University in 1987, and a master's degree in mass communication in 1998. She is an associate professor of Communication at Saint Joseph's College in Rensselaer, Ind.

Ms. Nesselrode is a former news producer at KRJH-TV in Tulsa and KFOR-TV in Oklahoma City. She also was an instructor of broadcasting at Northern Oklahoma College 1993-98.

Berger, a 1972 graduate of Winamac High School, received a bachelor's degree in 1976 and a master's degree in mass communication in 1978 from Purdue University. He is an associate professor of Communication at Saint Joseph's. Berger is the former director of the Hollywood Media Workshops in Los Angeles for high school and college students.

The couple plans to open and operate a Bed and Breakfast establishment in Rensselaer.
