Oklahoma Federation of Music Club presented the Junior Music Festival Competition at Southern Nazarene University, Bethany, on April 27. Ponca City had 30 entries in this event who had qualified in the local Junior Music Festival on Feb 23.

Local winners participated in piano solo, piano duet, vocal art song solo and duet, vocal music theater solo and duet, recorder solo, duet and trio, and vocal ensembles.

There were 49 entries in vocal solos and duets; 60 piano entries including solo, duet, trio, concerto and hymn playing; 18 instrumental entries including violin solo and concerto, viola concerto, recorder solo, duet and trio, flute, trombone. Vocal Ensemble entries have increased to 9 entries. There are nine festival districts in the state of Oklahoma that participate in this event. The total number of students participating was 250.
